360fit Functional Fitness

Functional fitness has become the new cool thing in the fitness industry. But the fact of the matter is that its not that new.

Even up to four years ago functional fitness (using other exercises and methods for being fit such as body weight exercises and using little to no machines) was not well known or accepted.

There was a time when I worked for other gyms that my clients would joke they could pick other other clients in the gym because they would always doing exercise no one else was doing.

For a long time now I have believed that to be fit the best way is to challenge your body in different ways. To me that meant doing exercise that would use the most muscles possible in each movement. I felt like a burpee, which works many muscles at once, was far better than a chest press or squat because it is so much harder to do.

Back then the buzz words was cross training. That usually just meant lifting weights like a bodybuilder and going for a few runs on the treadmill. Boot camps were for the military. People looked the exercises I gave clients as if I had two heads.

Thankfully things have changed. Now with Crossfit, boot camps, and TRX training gaining traction, functional fitness training as exploded like never before. Every trainer wants to try it and teaches it.

And this is the best possible thing that could have happened to the fitness industry! Clients are getting better, more balanced, workouts. Now they truly are more fit and able to do all the things they want to do in their lives.

Give yourself a gift and hire a trainer who can show you how great functional fitness is and what it can do for you!
